Okay so I have not yet figured out how to put pictures down in a way that isn't super ugly, but when I work that out I will update this page. It will have pictures of things that I make with little how-to's and self-critiques. I will talk about my technique and my clays and my glazes and what went well and what went poorly. For now, I might add some thoughts as I have them about styles or similar. Anyway. Ignore this.
In the meantime, I am very excited to be putting a piece in an exhibiton for the first time ever. Its this cool little snail planter that I want to display with string of pearls inside. Eventually it might keep a little strawberry plant, or a varigated string of pearls plant, but I don't think I'll be able to find one that i like in time for the exhibition.
I also have had a year long pottery project going on! Every year I make a hand made Christmas gift for each of my friends and family members, but this year I decided to challenge myself and make everyone a ceramic piece! That means around 25 pieces bisqued by the end of October, making about 3 items per month. November is glazing month. It is TRICKY, but mostly because I am having a hard time deciding what to make for certain people. Actually making the piece is fine. It's been a very fun challenge so far but I am a little bit dreading the mad dash of glazing I'll run into...
